The Mission to the Greater Puget Sound

God has revealed that He would bless the work of the church as it faithfully holds to the Scripture in proclaiming the historic faith to those in the Seattle area.

Many are searching for a deeper realationship with Jesus Christ within the historic church. There are those seeking a charismatic release of God's Spirit within. Others seek a liturgical expression that is not ethnic or void of meaning. Still others seek the continuation of the historic expression of the catholic faith while holding to the historic and canonical teachings of the church and Holy Scripture.

Basic Beliefs

We Believe

We believe in the unity of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. We belive in the unity exemplified by the undivided historic Church during the first eleven centuries:

The sacred Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the written Word of God, the chief witness to apostolic teaching, the source of the Church’s nourishment and strength.

The Apostles’ Creed as the Baptismal symbol; and the Nicene Creed as the sufficient statement of the Christian faith.

The Seven Sacraments of the Church, including:Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Confession/Reconciliation, Holy Matrimony, Holy Orders, Healing/Unction.

The Historic Episcopate in Apostolic Succession, the gift of Christ’s authority to the Church and the trustee of the Church’s fidelity to the faith once delieverd.

Three Traditions Converge

With great respect for the ancient liturgy (work of the people) of the church, we use the historic forms of worship in the tradition of the ancient church. Sacramental in that we believe in the "work of God" in the response of the people of God to the directions of Scripture.

God provided "grace gifts" in accordance with the needs of the Body of Christ. These gifts are "as the Lord directs" and are expected to function in the lives of Spirit-filled believers. These Spiritual Gifts may be expressed in worship but most importantly are evident in the daily walk of the child of God. Our worship reflects the convergence of charismatic, liturgical, and contemporary with the traditions of past generations.

Generally the term Evangelical is used to emphasize a personal relationship and commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; the Bible as the inspired Word of God; and the need for evangelism. In keeping with the "Chicago Call of 1977," we stand firmly committed to the historic evangelical faith understanding the need to recover our common roots to faithfully transmit the gospel to the world today.
